Hidden Solutions for Small Bathrooms – Clever Features to Maximize Space and Minimize Clutter

Small bathrooms are something we have all dealt with at some point. The problem of trying to minimize clutter but maximize efficiency and space is difficult to accomplish. At Livwell Collective we have come up with a few unique and clever solutions to maximize space and streamline the small bathroom experience. Read this blog post to learn more!

Common Problems with a Small Bathroom

One of the main problems with having a small bathroom is, well, space! A lot goes into a bathroom, a toilet, sink, and maybe even a shower. Already space is limited with these fixtures in place. Not to mention most bathrooms have towel racks on the wall which takes up even more space.

Clutter is another huge problem with small bathrooms. A lot of stuff needs to go and stay in a bathroom, a toothbrush, floss, hair products, ointments, toilet paper, the list goes on and on. With such a small space and so much stuff in it, clutter becomes a massive problem.

What can be Done With a Small Bathroom

At Livwell Collective we have encountered clients with small bathrooms more times than we can count. Over the years we have come up with some extremely effective solutions to maximize space and minimize clutter in these small rooms. Some are extremely simple and others are a bit more time consuming, but are worth it. Here are some quick solutions to declutter your bathroom, without major changes to the room:

– Organize all your items, throw out stuff you don’t need anymore to help declutter the space.

– Store items you don’t normally use, or need, in other rooms of your home.

– Keep your bathroom clean, as you clean you will throw out old items you don’t need anymore, helping to declutter

– Add a small storage unit outside your bathroom if the flow of the home allows for it. For example if the bathroom is located in the corner of the home

Classic Medicine Cabinet Mirrors

Medicine cabinet mirrors are a simple solution to maximizing space in your small bathroom. Hidden behind the mirror, above the sink, hides a spacious cabinet to store a number of different items to help declutter. Some of these cabinet mirrors are actually recessed in the wall to increase the depth of the cabinet, while others don’t require this. While they are more convenient, not requiring you to cut a hole in your wall, they hold less items, as they have less depth.

Cabinet Towers

Another simple solution is adding a cabinet tower in one of the corners of your bathroom. While they may take up a noticeable amount of space, they will essentially solve your clutter problem in your bathroom. With a decent amount of drawers, cabinet towers will hold everything that goes into a bathroom while keeping it organized.

Divided Drawers Under the Sink

Probably one of the most simple and easy solutions is to add divided drawers under your sink. The sink, and counter, already take up a decent amount of space, so might as well convert the underside of it into an organized storage area. Store cleaning supplies, toilet paper, ointments and much more in these drawers to declutter your bathroom.

Recessed Bathroom Shelves

At Livwell Collective, one of our go-to solutions for small bathrooms is adding in recessed bathroom shelves. Now it’s not your traditional shelves, rather it’s a top of the line recessed storage unit that can even feature stylish glass doors. These ‘shelves’ are flush with the wall but large in depth, allowing you to store everything you need seamlessly and in style.

Small Bathroom, No Problem

Using our tried and true methods you are sure to maximize the space of your small bathroom and minimize clutter. With smart solutions like medicine cabinet mirrors, organized drawers under the sink, and even recessed bathroom shelves, you are guaranteed to have a de-cluttered bathroom that maximizes space!
